Hello guys! Time to recap my past few weeks and go through what’s coming up. But I also wanted to take some time to talk about the recent partypoker software updates. As a Mac user myself, it’s great to see these additional features now in line with Windows.
Hometown run good
The latest tournaments I’ve played were the British Poker Open in London and the Fennia Grand Slam in Helsinki. The BPO was a really good option for PLO players like me, since they had £25k and £10k PLO events. Unfortunately, the fields were extremely small and not the softest. No success for me in the bigger one but I min cashed (5th place) the £10k for £24k.
After this, it was time to play one of my favourites of the year – the Fennia Grand Slam. I’ve been playing this tournament for 8 years now and it’s fun because everybody knows each other. Similar to the BPO, there were pretty small fields in the tournaments. I played the 5k€ PLO and 5k€ NL. In the PLO event I ended up finishing in 3rd place for 19 000€.
The second tournament was the 5k€ no limit that really went my way from the beginning. I’d have to say this was one of best days I’ve played this year. All the bluffs went through and hero calls were right. It was one of those days that everything seemed to work. I got lucky right before the money bubble and gathered a big stack which was worth a lot in the bubble. I ended up winning the tournament for 63 000€. That was title #6 from the Fennia Grand Slam in 8 years. I’ve gotta say that’s some sort of ”hometown run good”!
partypoker software updates
The partypoker software has had lots of updates recently to improve the player experience and the most recent changes are especially great for Mac users. So, as a Mac user myself, I wanted to show you some of the key improvements.
The latest updates include the following which you can see just below…
- New big blinds count display
- New and improved notes
- Customisable table felt and backgrounds
- New oval and racetrack table shape with improved player plates
For me, the feature I like most is the big blind display. No matter which stakes I’m playing, it keeps my mindset right and helps me focus on the big blinds rather than the money.
The next big change that should be coming towards the end of year is ’Run It Twice’ in cash games which should be popular, considering the feedback it has received so far.
End of 2019
The highlight for me when it comes to the end of the year is clearly the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party in November, which is held in the Bahamas. If you’re looking for a great place to play poker and combine a vacation too this is the one! The venue is really nice and the Main Event has a massive $10M prize pool. Satellites are running now so you can win your package – you can find all the info here.
I will also attend the Nordic Poker Championship in Copenhagen. This will take place during early November and will offer lots of smaller buy-in tournaments too. The schedule can be found here.
That’s it for this time. I wish you all a great end to the year and hopefully see you at the tables!
