Hey guys its been a while since my last post. A lot has happened during the summer but maybe the most interesting part was 6 weeks I spent in the USA. I started off the trip in Montreal where MILLIONS North America was held. Overall, this tournament was really cool and especially the venue Playground Poker Club gets a pretty high grade from me.
I didn’t get to see too much of the city of Montreal since I made a deep run in the 10,300$CAD Main Event and managed to cruise to 3rd after 5 long days of poker. This tournament cash of 583,000$CAD was the 2nd biggest of my career and happened in a pretty good spot right before the WSOP. After a week in Montreal, the trip continued to Las Vegas.
After the first week in Vegas, I changed the topic of my trip from WSOP to WSOG. I played so many more rounds of golf than WSOP tournaments. I found a pretty good day schedule where I played a round of golf early in the morning and then cash games in the evening. I didn’t really have the right kind of motivation to play long tournament days. It’s pretty stressful.
There were a couple of tournaments though that were too good to skip – the $10k and $25k WSOP PLOs for example. I managed to make a pretty deep run in the $25k but busted 24th for around $60k while 1.6M would have been up top. I also played the partypoker Aria MILLIONS $10k Main Event but busted at a pretty early stage.
Helsinki – Northern Ireland – Velden
After the trip to USA there was time take some time off from poker and enjoy my hometown Helsinki. A couple of weeks after I decided to go and watch The Open Championship golf tournament in Northern Ireland. That was really cool experience, though not quite as impressive as The US Masters I got to see earlier this year. From Ireland I took a plane to Velden to play some cards. 4 days in Austria 100/200€ PLO in the beautiful Casino Velden was fun but I ended up getting crushed in the game! That happens though. After that I’ve been mostly charging my batteries for upcoming events, and the next one is already around the corner – MILLIONS Europe at King’s Casino. I will play quite small schedule this time which includes $25k high roller and possibly the $100k too. My main focus will still be on cash games though since I can’t really call myself a tournament pro these days 🙂
Next update will be after this trip and will contain my plans for rest of the year and winter! Stay tuned and take care guys!
